Released in 1948, the Series 1 was the vehicle that launched John Craddock. Like most vehicles from that time, the series 1 featured a leaf spring suspension system. While this system made it the ideal off-road vehicle and excellent for carrying heavy loads, the system was replaced in later models by the newer spring suspension system.
