Land Rover has a proud military history. Not only was it inspired by the US military’s jeep, but the Land Rover has become a constant presence in the military throughout the world.
The British military has made extensive use of Land Rover vehicles over the past 50 years, even creating the Snatch 2, Pink Panther, and the Land Rover Wolf. Meanwhile, the Australian Special Air Service embraced the Series 2 as the Long Range Patrol Vehicle, and the United States Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment adopted 12 models of Land Rover as the Ranger Special Operations Vehicle. In Africa, the Ghanese military created the Centaur Half Track based on the Land Rover.
