Defender 90 And 110 L663 Roof Racks

Released in the early 1980s, the original Land Rover 90 and 110 models were designed in the mould of the earlier Range Rover. They were meant to combine the luxury and the friendliness of the Range Rover range with the durability and toughness of the earlier Land Rover Series Sports Utility Vehicles.

The new 90 and 110 models proved to be an incredible success, quickly repositioning them to the heart of the Land Rover range. This was only made more apparent in 1989, when the 90 and 110 range was re-christened as the Land Rover Defender following the announcement of the Land Rover Discovery.

The Land Rover Defender maintained its position at the heart of the Land Rover range over a number of iterations until 2016, when the original run ended.

Such was the popularity of the Defender, however, that the Defender was brought back into production 3 years later as the Land Rover Defender L663. But while the new Defender shared the name with its predecessor, the technology behind the vehicle was completely new -- featuring permanent all-wheel drive, locking differentials, and a two-speed transfer case.
