Jaguar Land Rover have had a great start to the year with record sales of over 46,000 vehicles being sold in the first month of 2016 marking a 24% increase in sales compared to the same period last year. Following on from 2015, their best year for overall global sales, the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque continued to sell well while the Defender saw its best January sales for a decade, largely due to it being the final month of production for the iconic model.
Positive Signs for Jaguar Land Rover
In Europe alone, just under 20,000 vehicles were sold in January while the company also saw positive results in China, where the locally-produced Discovery Sport sold particularly well. In the past five years, Jaguar Land Rover has manage to double sales and employment, more than tripled their turnover and already invested over £11 billion in new product creation as well as capital expenditure. They have now become one of the UK’s biggest exporters, generating over 80% of their revenue from this alone.
It seems like Jaguar Land Rover are going from strength to strength and we’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on their next project.
