    Exmoor Trim

The history of Exmoor Trim is long. It’s a story of slow and careful innovation.

    The History of Exmoor Trim

In 1946, a young designer named Bert Gostling had just started his career at the Rover Car Company. Almost immediately, Bert’s manager noticed his skills, and Bert was placed on the development team working on an experimental new car -- a utility vehicle based on the US Military’s jeep. That vehicle would later be called the Land Rover Series 1.

But that’s only the start of the story. Eventually, Bert started a family and was made Land Rover’s Senior Design Engineer. Bert taught his son Lew everything he knew and instilled a real passion for Land Rovers and design -- a passion which endures in the family to this day.

Lew followed his father’s footsteps and eventually became Land Rover’s Head of Experimental Trim. Throughout his career, Lew gained a reputation as a genius when it came to the company. And like his father, Lew taught his son Julian everything he knew.

Taking the passion and experience gained over two generations, Julian Gostling founded Exmoor Trim with one goal in mind: to provide high quality replacement parts for the vehicle that played such an important role in his family’s history. Today, they are one of the premier manufacturers of Land Rover replacement interior sets and accessories - and the British military’s preferred supplier of replacement seats.
